Laptop Before Palmrest Replacement

Did not have anything going on this weekend, therefore, I figured I would have a few hours without interuption to work on replacing the palmrest on this Lenovo.

New Palmrest

Ready to get started 10:36 am


All the major componants mount on the palmrest, so, this will require a major disassembly, of the laptop.

Ready to open things up

Just examining the screws that need to be removed. Don't want to miss any.

Bottom Cover Removed

With the bottom cover off the inside of the laptop is revealed. I feel like a surgen each time I work on one.

Finally We have separation

The LCD display panel has been seperated from the palmrest.

The palmrest is now ready for system board removal

The system board and all other critical componants have been removed from the palmrest.

New Palmrest Ready for Reassembly

The new palmrest laying on the antistatic mat awaiting reassembly.

I am making good time, the system board is back in place on the new palmrest.

Were getting things Connected

The hard drive and fan have been re-installed, and touch pad and keyboard are reconnected.

Reconnecting the LCD Panel

The LCD panel is now mounted to the palmrest. I want to be careful, don't want to put too much stress on the mounting screws.

All Together Now

I love it when things come together without any problems Powered things up and they worked the first time. Total time from the start to finish was 1 hour and 17 minutes.
